Aakanshaa made the bold decision to leave her teaching career to pursue full-time book blogging. Although she currently resides in Pune, her heart remains in her hometown of Indore.

We had the opportunity to chat with Aakanshaa and learn more about her journey as a book influencer, her inspirations, challenges, and tips for aspiring book bloggers.

Q: What inspired you to become a book influencer?

A: I began my journey as a full-time book blogger driven by the desire to be my own boss and pursue something I’m passionate about. Over time, my blog evolved into a literature-focused niche.

Q: If you could write a book about anything in the world, what would it be about?

A: My most recent work, Reflection, is a compilation of micro fiction stories. However, I’ve harbored a long-standing desire to craft a romance novel inspired by my personal experiences. Having faced numerous life challenges, it would make a compelling and relatable story for readers. Additionally, I’m keen on writing a self-help book, drawing from my own experiences. These are the two projects I’m eager to explore.

Q: How do you choose the books that you read and review?

A: Around 70-80% of my annual reading material consists of review copies provided by authors or publishers. The remaining books I chose based on my current mood and preferences at that specific moment.

Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island with only three books, which ones would they be and why?

A: Life Without Limits, Becoming, and Sapiens are my go-to nonfiction reads. The first book serves as an inspiration for finding positivity, the second guides me towards personal growth even in challenging circumstances, and the third offers a glimpse into how our ancestors lived, reminding me that if they could thrive, so can I.

Q: What book has had the most profound impact on your life, and how did it change you?

A: Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic has deeply influenced my life by demonstrating that with mental strength, one can overcome any physical disability and discover pathways to a joyful existence.

Q: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your journey as a book influencer?

A: I wouldn’t describe it as surprising, but this journey has made me realize that I’m different from most people. No offense to those who choose to work for someone else, but that path isn’t for me and never will be. I’ve come to understand that I’m willing to put in 24/7/365 work, but only when it’s for my own ventures. What’s more, I’ve discovered a preference for a path filled with uncertainties, and the irony is that I derive enjoyment from it.

Q: What’s a book you’ve read that has made you see the world from a completely different perspective, and how has it influenced your thinking?

A: I’ve delved into nearly 400 books, each offering a unique perspective on the world. Picking just one or two to highlight is challenging, as it would do an injustice to the others. Nevertheless, the books I previously mentioned hold a special place in my heart, and I won’t say much more. LOL.
